Position Purpose:

Logistics Delivery Driver serving the food and food service industry are instrumental in maintaining the efficiency of the food supply chain. They are tasked with delivering orders to customers on time and in pristine condition, while also embodying the values and ethos of our brand

Logistics Delivery Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive and drop routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a professional manner to ensure that questions are answered accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Supports the team within the department and organization, performing all duties assigned to help further the company's objectives.
  • Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any safety issues or repairs that are necessary.
  • Upholds all DOT regulations and company safe driving standards.
  • Promptly notifies of safety hazards and conducts a thorough inspection of the trailer to ensure the proper loading and securing of the cargo.
  • Performs a thorough inspection of item quantities and checks customer invoices for loaded products.
  • Ensures all essential paperwork connected with cargo is thoroughly reviewed and completed accurately and legibly.
  • Reaches the loading area with the tractor and connects the preloaded trailer accordingly.
  • Conducts customer order deliveries according to a prearranged route plan.
  • Offloading products from the trailer and carrying them to designated customer storage zones.
  • Undertakes evaluations of goods to ensure their quality, checks scanning results, and communicates with a supervisor regarding the deletion of orders following company procedures.
  • Validates item delivery with customers and collects the relevant signatures.
  • Collects payments, including cash or checks as needed. Loads customer returns onto a trailer and secures the trailer doors adequately for safe transportation.
  • Manages the locking and securing of the tractor, trailer, and cargo to guarantee their safety.
  • Handle damaged goods and customer returns by unloading them and taking them to the driver check-in to complete necessary paperwork. Also, remove trash from trailers and unload all required equipment and materials.
  • Documents the daily service hours performed and enters them into the log in adherence to Federal DOT, state regulations, and company protocols.
  • Performs routine upkeep tasks in the tractor, loading dock region, and ensures trailers are clear and clean as needed.
  • Ensure that at the end of your shift, all equipment is secured and all paperwork is filled out.
  • Undertakes supplementary duties as specified.

Qualification:

  • Experience in the field of commercial driving for 12 months
  • Demonstrating educational qualifications involves presenting a high school diploma, GED, or an alternative recognized by the state
  • Valid CDL A
  • Fulfill all state licensing and certification prerequisites when required
  • It is mandatory to have completed 21 years of life to fulfill the condition
  • Obtain a clear Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) covering the last three years of driving history
  • Abide by the requirement of passing drug screening and a criminal background check following a job offer
  • Pass road test
  • Have a DOT Health Card that is up-to-date or be ready to obtain a new one if the situation demands
  • Adept at hand-lifting and operating two-wheelers, lift gates, and other equipment to move and stack product cases or freight of different dimensions and weights during the shift. The items typically weigh between 10-35 pounds but can occasionally reach up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, varying by location
